Since 2001, our family-owned restaurant is an intimate space conceived for the most exquisite palates. Our terrace faces directly the unique and spectacular Teix on the Serra de Tramuntana.
2021 marks the 20th anniversary of Es Racó d'es Teix, and to celebrate it Josef has put together his recipe book with the best recipes from his entire career.
After working in the most important kitchens in Europe, such as the Brenner Park Hotel in Baden Baden, the Four Seasons in Munich, Le Beaurivage Palace in Lausanne, the Berkeley Hotel in London, the Sofitel Hotel in Ajaccio, Le Canard in Hamburg and Le Manoir Saisons Aux Quatre in Oxford, Josef Sauerschell started in 1985 as head chef at the luxury hotel La Residencia in Deia, Mallorca. There he met the Maitre and future wife, Leonor Payeras, with whom he opened Es Racó d’es Teix in 2001.
Josef Sauerschell is a pioneer of today's gourmet scene on Mallorca, having experienced and influenced the island's transformation from the 1980s to the present day.
